Is life fair?

Recently we lost two very bright students of IIITM in an accident. The whole institute is immersed in grief. The whole incident got me thinking how unfair life can be. One single incident changes not just your life but also the lives of people attached to you. Especially in case of accidents, it’s just one careless mistake, right? Why are the punishments so severe? Is God actually doing all this? Does He govern everything? How can he be so unfair at times? Can’t he see what can his decisions do to His innocent children?

I f we take this to an even broader perspective the uncertainty in everything seems really unfair. A newly born kid is just a kid who hasn’t even started living his life yet. But his fate is depended on who his parents are. I mean what exactly is the difference between a 1 day old born at some BPL house or some millionaire’s mansion? If God was fair shouldn’t the system be more impartial?

Shouldn’t the corrupt people be inside the bars by now? But instead guiltless people are sent to prison. Terrorists make plans to strike at innocent citizens. Who is responsible for this? Is it just us, the humans? Or the system designed by the Almighty is faulty?

Is He actually there? If yes, has He decided everything for us already? Is life fair?

Let's learn to be happy

Now let us talk about happiness. I believe happiness is self defined. One can be happy in any situation and condition. If you don’t believe me think about a poor kid who has just enough clothes to cover her body and can afford just enough food to stay alive but is still able to laugh with her friends. Every one defines their own happiness but the thing is it should not be dependent on a specific thing. If I get a hundred million dollars I will be happy, shouldn’t be the case. One needs to find happiness in small things. One must set some goals, certainly, but should not restrict their happiness just in achieving those specific goals....one must not limit happiness.

Certainly, many times it is just difficult to feel happy when you are going through tough times. Trust me buddies I have been there. But then everyone has their own share of sorrow and laughter. Make sure you don’t miss on your share on happiness, in fact let us learn to change places form under a cloud to on a cloud nine. If one can learn the art of being happy in any situation he can surely conquer the world. The best part is when you are happy you can spread the joy among the people around you, can it get any better? Let us try harder to achieve the state of happiness :)

The whole concept of independence is mere bullshit

You must be aware of the feeling when you are continuously trying to be independent in all senses; saying what you think you should, able to do whatever you feel like doing, feel however you want to feel, of course rationally and in your senses. Guess what? I had the sudden realization that the idea of being independent is so impractical that it is nothing more than bullshit.

If being independent, for you, is just standing up on your feet and being able to help yourself then you might not want to read the rest of the post.

No matter how hard you try not to involve people around you in your business, they do get involved. Everyone around you is affected by the shit going on in your life and it is a two way street. Others actions, words, opinions, judgements, perceptions, conclusions affect you equally. So where is the whole concept of independence here? Shouldn’t it be like you share your happiness, creepiness, sorrow or whatever shit only when you want to? Sometimes you just don’t want people to meddle. You just want to make your own mistakes and live your life your way. What makes sense to you doesn’t always have to make sense to others, right?

The worst is when people (and by people I mean all of us) have the habit of indulging in others complicated issues and then suddenly no matter from where the whole issue started it just becomes every one’s business. Swiftly, the focus is gone and everyone just starts thinking about their own perspective, their own opinion, their own judgement and cry about how the situation is harming them. So after making your mistakes if you just want to repent, it is not going to happen. It will be more complicated, it will be worse. Your mistake won’t be just your mistake anymore.

I guess that is just how the things work when you are a social animal. There is a high degree of interdependence and sadly very little independence.

The concept of moving on

So I was at a market in Delhi with one of my dearest friends and this thing came into my mind that how important it is to learn the concept of moving on. When i say move on it is not just in the reference to your relationships but every aspect of life. Be it you not being able to score well in your exams, you missing your flight or your boyfriend leaving you.
Everyone makes mistakes, that is just how we learn new things. Sometimes an important part of moving on is to forgive yourself and others for whatever happened and just move on with life. If something wrong had happened to you, most of the times even you have played a part in it. It is always helpful to accept your mistakes and promise yourself not to repeat them. If you have chosen a way rationally, the best thing to do is to make the most out of it and not let the past affect your present or future. If you want to be happy and you know what you want, it is important to implement the concept of moving on in all demeanors. You have to learn how to stop whining over something that already happened. Situations change, change is constant. If you find your happy times gone, trust me they will be back and so is the case with tough times. A smooth, predictable life is ideal. It is no life in fact.
To enjoy the life to the fullest we have to stop cribbing about whatever happened.

So to sum it up in a line I would say- learn to move on after all it’s a fast track.
